Halyk Bank announced as winner of “Best Digital Transformation Initiative – Go Digital” award category
Global Business Outlook announced Halyk Bank as the winner in the “Best Digital Transformation Initiative – Go Digital” category, reports Platon.asia with a link to kaztag.kz.
The announcement was made by Global Business Outlook after its annual selection and analysis of the country’s leading international banks, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
As noted, Halyk Bank is actively realizing its Go Digital strategy, developing its internet banking for its corporate and private customers, strengthening the bank’s position in the acquiring market, and launching new products and services such as Homebank Pay (for Android smartphones with NFC), QR payment services based on Visa Scan&Pay which use QR codes for making cashless payments on purchases by Halyk Bank/Qazkom cards, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and other methods.

“We are happy that Halyk Bank’s efforts in developing innovative services as part of its Go Digital strategy has been highly rated by international experts. By offering new services to the market, we are actively working towards the main goal for digitalizing – to provide fast and convenient access to financial services for all bank customers. In addition, we are implementing an upgraded E-pay payment service for internet merchants. For merchants with physical store locations, we will be rolling out in the near future a new feature, Android POS, which combines cash accounting and fiscal data operator functions, and offers Tap to Phone technology which turns an Android smartphone with NFC into a fully operational POS terminal without the use of additional hardware,” reports Halyk Bank’s Vice Chairman of the Management Board, Askar Smagulov.
The Global Business Outlook Awards were instituted by Global Business Outlook, an international businss journal, and are awarded every year to companies who have excelled in their business activities in various economic sectors throughout the world, both in the state and private sectors.

Way4 Payments Platform for Digital Transformation
Halyk Bank, one of the most innovative banks in Central Asia, uses Way4 to serve 74,000 merchants, both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce. The bank was the world’s first acquirer of Visa P2P mobile trans- fers and the first in Central Asia to issue UnionPay cards.
Within the POS network of Halyk Group, more than 37,000 terminals support contactless card and mobile payments.
In 2018 Halyk Bank expanded into the SME market and transit payments, by intro- ducing VISA Scan&Pay QR code service in Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
