Chief Electronic Banking Officer
I am Chief Electronic Banking Officer at Bank of Valletta (BOV) responsible for the development of the BOV Group’s electronic banking proposition and multi-channel banking strategy. The focus on Electronic and Digital Banking is directed at significantly increasing the accessibility to financial services across electronic channels and developing a holistic and channel-agnostic experience for the Bank’s customers.
My responsibilities include the Bank’s Cards Business, e-Commerce, Electronic Payments and Multi-Channel Banking including the Internet, mobile and ATM channels. I am also responsible for Centralised Operations.
My previous position was Chief Officer, Operations of BOV between October 2010 and January 2015 during which period I served as a member of the Bank's Executive Committee and chaired the Bank's Strategic Marketing and Business Development Committee.
My career at BOV spans over 27 years during which I occupied various senior executive management roles, including Director on the Board and member of the Investment Committee of MSV Life p.l.c. – BOV's Life Insurance subsidiary. I also represented the Bank on the Co-ordination Committee of the European Savings Banks Group (ESBG) and as a Director of the World Savings Banks Institute (WSBI), and was a member of the EFMA Operational Efficiency Advisory Council.
I was Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Malta Bankers’ Association (May 2013 - February 2015).
I served as Secretary to the Bank’s Executive Committee and to the Bank’s Asset and Liability Management Committee between 2007 and 2010. I also served as member of the Bank’s Credit Committee between January 2012 and July 2013.
I am a graduate in Business Management and has read for and graduated with Masters Degrees in European Studies and Integrated Marketing Communications. I am an Associate of the Trinity College of London.
