Chief Technology Officer
My career in OpenWay Group began in 1997. As a software engineer I contributed to design and development of early WAY4 releases and played active role in the very first migration projects. Five years later my role changed to a senior business analyst providing technical expertise for pre-sales activities on all sophisticated projects. In 2006, as the Chief Product Manager, I took the lead in global WAY4 product management.
In October 2008 I was appointed Chief Technology Officer for OpenWay International, which covers Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and Americas.
What you see as key trends in your business?
Growing mobile commerce and cashless payments drive the demand for more complex transactions, new mobile payment technologies such as HCE and wearables, even larger volumes and continuous service availability while keeping the security at the highest level.
On the other hand, the trend for regulation and cost savings at mature markets such as EU leads the industry to further consolidation and increased competition for products and services, blurring the borders between the countries and businesses, acquirers and issuers.
What inspires you in the payment industry?
For the last 18 years that I’m in this industry, it always keeps on growing, and new innovations keep on emerging every year. And it looks like it will continue innovating and reinventing itself for years to come.
